Libyan Ambassador in Moscow: “Libya is interested in buying agricultural products from Russia”

The Libyan ambassador in the Russian capital, Moscow, Mohamed Al-Maghrabi, said that Libya is interested in buying agricultural products from Russia, noting that the first trial batch of flour estimated at about 100,000 tons will be shipped to Libya next week, specifically after the 11th of May.

Al-Maghrabi added, in statements to the Russian TASS news agency, that he participated in Libyan negotiations with the Russian side regarding grain and flour, which resulted in an agreement to ship a trial batch of flour to Libya estimated at 100,000 tons. This is considered a big batch which causes logistical difficulties in light of the difficulty of delivering Russian goods after the sanctions.

The ambassador Al-Maghrabi indicated that Libya had submitted a request to import about 350 thousand tons of Russian flour, adding that the Libyan authorities intend to organize a meeting in the country for businessmen to discuss the available options for importing basic commodities.
