The Libyan Investment Authority submits a complaint to the Security Council against the actions of the Belgian authorities
The Security Council affirmed its consideration of a grievance submitted by the Libyan Investment Authority against the Belgian authorities’ attempts to involve it in criminal cases that are not related to it, and the purpose of it is to use the authority’s funds to pay off debts and obligations of the Libyan state in favor of a company headed by Laurent, the brother of the Belgian King.
Libya’s permanent representative to the United Nations, Taher Al-Sunni, earlier accused Belgium of trying to rob the frozen Libyan funds, by exploiting their preoccupation with reuniting them and arranging for a new stage.
It is noteworthy that the Belgian public prosecutor is still exerting pressure against the head of the Libyan Investment Authority by issuing an arrest warrant against Ali Mahmoud in an attempt to compensate the Belgian prince.
