Al-Sghayer tells about the role of Arraqeeb Libyan Consumer Protection Organization in following up on the prices of basic commodities

The Chairman of the Directors Board of the Arraqeeb Libyan Consumer Protection Organization Wael Al-Sghayer spoke about the nature of the organization and its role in controlling the quality and prices of goods.

He said: « Arraqeeb is a civil society organization that seeks to raise the quality of services and products in the Libyan market. It was established in 2017, and one of its main objectives is to monitor goods and stopping fraud; It also sets standards and specifications for quality with the support of the Municipal Guard and the participation of a number of ministries such as economy and planning, and directing the state to comprehensive strategic policies for consumer protection, as well as developing a comprehensive law in particular. »

He added: « This year, we tried to organize a celebration to commemorate the International Day for Consumer Protection, in partnership with the Food and Drug Control Center, to introduce consumers’ rights, direct some recommendations, and discuss the problems facing them to search for solutions through public authorities. »
