The Kremlin said the Russian President Vladimir Putin held a telephone conversation on Thursday with the Prime Minister of the Libyan Government of National Unity (GNU), Abdul-Hamid Dbaiba.
Putin welcomed the formation of the interim GNU, which is scheduled to pave the way for elections at the end of the year. He also reaffirmed Russia’s readiness to continue efforts aimed at establishing progressive social and economic development in Libya.
The Kremlin added that Dbaiba expressed his gratitude for the delivery of a batch of the Russian Sputnik V vaccine to Libya.
Libyan Prime Minister Abdelhamid al-Dbaiba arrived in Moscow on Thursday for talks with his Russian counterparts on developments in Libya and bilateral cooperation.
