Libya’s new permanent representative to the United Nations, Taher Al-Sunni, presented his credentials to Secretary-General, António Guterres, on Monday, at the UN’s headquartered in New York.
Until his latest appointment, Mr. El-Sonni was the Senior Political Adviser to the head of the Presidential Council of Libya’s GNA beginning in 2016.
During his meeting with Guterres, Al-Sunni indicated the importance of the cooperation between Libya and the United Nations, and claimed that ” What is needed is an international consensus to stop Haftar’s aggression”.
