Central Bank of Libya: « Foreign exchange uses during January and February amounted to 3.1 billion dollars, of which 1.6 billion dollars were for credits ».

The Central Bank of Libya revealed in a statement on Thursday, that the total uses of foreign exchange during the months of January and February amounted to 3.1 billion dollars, including 1.6 billion dollars allocated for appropriations.

In its statement, the Central Bank stated that, during the months of January and February, it fed the accounts of commercial banks with an amount of 2.7 billion dollars, including 1.6 billion dollars in credits, and 1.1 billion dollars in study and treatment transfers on the private account, salaries of expatriates, aviation, and the payment of personal items for citizens.

The Central Bank added that 126 million dollars was used for salaries of workers abroad and international contributions for the past year, and 257 million dollars in existing appropriations payments to public authorities, including 133 million dollars for electricity, 80 million dollars for the medical and health supply system, and 20 million dollars for the Ministries of Education and Higher Education, in addition to an amount 24 million dollars for other public entities.
