This was after Interpol published a red card against \u201cAbu Agila Massoud\u201d last January, demanding that the defendant be located and arrested for transfer to the United States.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The embassy stated in its statement that the United States will not reopen the agreement concluded in 2008 between the United States and the Libyan government at the time, which settled the claims of America and American citizens against Libya resulting from certain terrorist incidents, including the Lockerbie case, and which obligated the United States to end claims for financial compensation in the courts, arising from these incidents and precludes any future claims, but does not restrict law enforcement cooperation or have any bearing on criminal charges against those responsible for the attack.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The US Embassy in Libya confirmed that the process of transferring the Libyan citizen \u201cAbu Agila Massoud\u201d to the United States for trial on charges related to the bombing of the \u201cPaname 103\u201d plane over Lockerbie, was carried out in a legal manner and in cooperation with the Libyan authorities.
