{"id":31915,"date":"2020-05-05T14:13:21","date_gmt":"2020-05-05T14:13:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/tabadul.demo.ly\/en\/corruption-charges-against-the-libyan-audit-bureau-ibyan\/"},"modified":"2020-05-05T14:13:21","modified_gmt":"2020-05-05T14:13:21","slug":"corruption-charges-against-the-libyan-audit-bureau-ibyan","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tabadul.tv\/en\/corruption-charges-against-the-libyan-audit-bureau-ibyan\/","title":{"rendered":"Corruption charges against the Libyan Audit Bureau"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"> \u00a0The Libyan Audit Bureau said on Monday that the top anti-corruption official Reda Gergab has been abducted by a militia tied to the Interior Ministry in the capital.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">  The Audit Bureau also accused the interior ministry of \u201cforcibly disappearing\u201d Gergab to prevent him from uncovering financial irregularities and blocking the ministry\u2019s large and suspicious transactions. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"> \u201cIt is regrettable that the body entrusted by the community to implement the law is violating it,\u201d the audit bureau added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/tabadul.tv\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/\u0627\u0644\u062f\u064a\u0648\u0627\u0646-300x202-1.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-20758\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"> In light of the abduction of Reda Gergab, the audit bureau\u2019s administrative director,  The\u00a0Ministry\u00a0of\u00a0Interior  issued a statement  acknowleding Gergab\u2019s detention and sought to justify it, arguing that the public health crisis caused by COVID-19 required the dispensation of urgent funds \u201cto rescue the Libyan people\u201d and that the government is merely \u201ccarrying out responsibilities&#8221; undermined by the anti-corruption agency.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cWe have noticed that the audit bureau is not performing its role according to the law,\u201d the ministry said, referring to the body&#8217;s review of government operations amid accusations of financial wrongdoing. \u201cThe government will never submit to political blackmail and arm-twisting.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/tabadul.tv\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/\u0642\u0631\u0642\u0627\u0628-278x400-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-20759\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>\u00a0The Libyan Audit Bureau said on Monday that the top anti-corruption official Reda Gergab has been abducted by a militia tied to the Interior Ministry in the capital.
