{"id":30801,"date":"2020-01-07T10:18:49","date_gmt":"2020-01-07T10:18:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/tabadul.demo.ly\/en\/sirte-is-under-control-of-haftar\/"},"modified":"2020-01-07T10:18:49","modified_gmt":"2020-01-07T10:18:49","slug":"sirte-is-under-control-of-haftar","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tabadul.tv\/en\/sirte-is-under-control-of-haftar\/","title":{"rendered":"Sirte is under control of Haftar"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>\u00a0Libyan forces loyal to Khalifa Haftar said on Monday that they took control of the strategic coastal city of Sirte in a fast advance preceded by air strikes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sirte is an important gain for Haftar, who since April has been waging a military offensive on the capital, Tripoli.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Libyan National Army (LNA) said it took areas surrounding Sirte, including al-Qardabiya air base, before moving towards the city centre.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;It was a well-planned, pre-emptive strike and within less than three hours we were in the heart of Sirte,&#8221; said LNA spokesman Ahmed al-Mismari.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;It was a sudden, swift operation,&#8221; he added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A citizen in Sirte  told Reuters in a phone call: &#8220;We can see convoys of LNA inside Sirte city &#8230; they control large parts of the city now.
