قبالة ساحل الخُمس: وفاة 74 مهاجرًا في غرق سفينة

أعلنت المنظمة الدولية للهجرة، وفاة 74 مهاجرًا على الأقل، نتيجة غرق قاربهم قبالة ساحل مدينة “الخُمس”، وأكد تقرير للأمم المتحدة، أن القارب كان يحمل على متنه أكثر من 120 شخصًا، من بينهم نساء وأطفال.

وكشفت المنظمة الدولية للهجرة، عن وفاة ما لا يقل عن 900 شخص غرقًا في البحر الأبيض المتوسط أثناء محاولتهم الوصول إلى الشواطئ الأوروبية، وبعضهم بسبب التأخير في عمليات الإنقاذ خلال العام الحالي، حيث أكد مدير المنظمة الدولية للهجرة في ليبيا، “فيديريكو صودا” أن الخسائر المتزايدة في الأرواح في البحر الأبيض المتوسط هي مظهر من مظاهر عدم قدرة الدول على اتخاذ إجراءات حاسمة لإعادة نشر قدرات البحث والإنقاذ التي تشتد الحاجة إليها في أكثر المعابر البحرية فتكا في العالم.

ولاحظت المنظمة الدولية للهجرة زيادة مفاجئة في عمليات المغادرة من البلاد، حيث تم اعتراض وإعادة حوالي 1900 شخص، ووصل أكثر من 780 شخصًا إلى إيطاليا من ليبيا، منذ بداية أكتوبر.
